This is an unforgettable experience made perfect by our kind and helpful tour guides - Ishmael and Saul, who are both so passionate, very learned and caring people. The Inca trail is challenging for someone with average fitness but it was wonderful to fully experience the incredible Andes mountains. The weather was difficult and our guides were patient. The walking tour was awesome and I really enjoyed learning about the ingenuity and history of the Inca people. If you're thinking about doing this tour - do it! The guides are really great: good english, lots of knowledge, super friendly, helpful and funny.Posted onVerified Rainbow Mountain Toue We had the pleasure of having David Condori Villanueva as our guide for our trip to Rainbow Mountain, and we couldn’t have been more lucky to have him. Before the hike, he thoughtfully gave us coca leaves and essential oils to help with altitude sickness. Along the way, he shared so much about the local culture and traditions, making the experience even more meaningful. What touched us the most was how he cared for my 9-year-old son, Evan. About halfway up the mountain, Evan was too tired to continue, so I stayed with him on a bench. After reaching the summit, David actually came back down just to encourage him. He even told Evan that he could carry him up if needed, and kept motivating him every step of the way. Thanks to his encouragement, Evan decided to try again, and David stayed with him, cheering him on and taking photos for us along the journey. In the end, Evan made it all the way to the top! We are incredibly grateful to Alpa Expedition for providing such a professional and compassionate guide. If we visit Peru again in the future, we will definitely choose this company again.Posted onVerified Once in a lifetime experience... This was truly a once in a lifetime experience. If I could do it again, I'd ensure that I had legitimate rain gear. It's also super humid so have dry change of clothes and ensure anything that needs to stay dry is in a waterproof container. Accept the fact you're going to get wet and remember you're camping in an air jungle -- It's going to be rustic, so plan accordingly. The toilets are going to be functional but a little gross. Our guide Lucio was like a Wikipedia article -- amazing and thorough. You can tell this company pride's itself in finding quality guides. Don't hesitate to ask questions about anything.
